Registration for SPARK 2016 has ended. Look forward to SPARK 2017!
SPARK is back! This summer, we are partnering with Interlake High School's Science Olympiad team to offer a two-week intensive science program that will introduce students to key concepts taught in AP/IB gifted science courses. Through an engaging mixture of lectures, activities, engineering projects, and labs, students will gain an understanding in the multifaceted subjects of science while having fun! Our volunteers are highly qualified, having excelled in a myriad of rigorous science courses and achieving success through Science Olympiad.

Interested in chemicals and how they interact? Then you'll have a strong reaction to our chemistry unit, where you'll explore atomic structures and discover what makes things blow up while bonding with other students!
|
Fascinated by living things and how they work? Then biology is in your DNA! Our biology unit will plant the seeds of knowledge in your brain as we cover cells, ecosystems, and everything in-between!
|
Curious about wave properties and the study of motion? Then our physics unit should be a compelling force to join SPARK! You'll learn how objects move, how electricity travels, and how light bends!
|
Love building and tinkering? Want a chance to construct an awesome machine with other kids? Then our engineering unit was engineered for you! You'll receive materials, tools, and helpful instruction from our volunteers as you make incredible devices that accomplish insane tasks!

SPARK is introducing a convenient and healthy lunch option for all students. Each day we will serve delicious and varied food from reputable vendors, including Potbelly Sandwiches and Qdoba Mexican Grill. Our volunteers will take care of ordering food in order to make lunch a hassle-free experience for campers and parents. Vegetarian option available. $45/ week |
This year, SPARK is revamping AfterCare to become an extra two hours of learning each day on topics not typically covered in traditional science courses. Through an innovative blend of technology* and self-exploration, students can investigate the stars, rummage through the rainforest, and have their eyes opened to current events in science! $50/week *Android tablets will be used during AfterCare. Expected student:tablet ratio - 3:1 |
This year, SPARK will be hosted at Big Brains Preparatory, the Eastside's newest private high school. To learn more, please visit bigbrainseducation.com.
