Meet the team
SPARK is a 100% student-led camp. In partnership with Interlake Science Olympiad, spreading our love for science is the best way we can give back to the community that helped us love science in the first place!
President & Co-Founder
Patrick is a senior at Interlake High School, and has been in the Bellevue District's accelerated program since 3rd grade. After joining Interlake Science Olympiad as a freshman, Patrick found his love for physics and engineering. He has been an officer of Interlake Science Olympiad for three years and is currently the club's president. Besides school, Patrick enjoys helping his community through preserving trails and volunteering as a mentor for Sherwood Forest Elementary's MINDSTORM Robotics program.
Co-President & Co-Founder
Kathleen is a senior at Interlake High School, and has been in the Bellevue District's accelerated program since 1st grade. Her favorite science is biology, and she loves giving back to the community through working with and starting nonprofits like SPARK. She hopes that through the relatable and engaging teaching style of SPARK, young kids can enjoy learning about science and explore their creative and innovative sides while simultaneously gaining knowledge.
Interlake Science Olympiad has achieved great success, placing 3rd two years in a row at the state level. Our volunteers, who have worked hard in AP/IB courses and Science Olympiad, love to share their science knowledge with SPARK students. All volunteers earn community service credit towards their high school requirement, and are a valuable part of our team.
You do not have to be part of Interlake SciOly to volunteer. If you are interested in volunteering, visit here!
